Jonathan Scott Sack

I was referred to Jonathan by a friend, and within 30 minutes we'd connected and planned next steps. He was incredibly knowledgeable and generous. I was suddenly let go from my job under shady circumstances, and I was so scared of my company that I wanted someone to make sure that it was actually in my best interest to sign their release and accept their severance. I called several attorneys and they all wanted hundreds of dollars to read m...y release, so it was a breath of fresh air when I spoke to Jonathan Sack. His approach was "I will read your release for free. If all I am doing is whispering in your ear, you don't have to pay me anything because making the business relationship is important to me. If I take on your case and get you more money, I want 1/3 of whatever I get you on top of what they have already offered you." After he realized that they also wanted to enforce an unenforceable non-compete, he said "Let me have some fun with this". I walked away with a release agreement that protects me considerably more than the original one did, and my former company ended up paying out double what they had originally offered me in severance. They tried to do several more shady things during the process, and he stood up to them every time. He's also committed to having an ongoing relationship with me should they try to make any other trouble. I can't tell you how much better I feel dealing with my former company with him as back up. In his words "When you stand up to a bully, they always blink." I'm recommending him to everyone that I can.

I found Mr. Slack through his website, which states he offers free consultations and gave a brief overview of my claim. Mr. Slack then responded asking, if my pay wasn't reduced "what is this claim for?" and "How would I be compensated if there is no money involved?" While both these concerns are com...pletely understandable, I found his attitude to be extremely condescending when the purpose of seeking an attorney was to see if I have a claim and/or if money could be involved, given that I am not an employment attorney. Perhaps Mr. Slack is a good attorney when hired, but from my brief experience while seeking a consultation, I cannot recommend him.
