Alan M. Koral

I am a highly experienced employment lawyer, very well known in the practice area:  I was Chair of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), 2007 - 2008, having previously served as Chair or Co-Chair of some of its committees, including the EEO Committee and the CLE Committee.  I am currently a member of the Section's Executive Committee.  I am also a member of the NYSBA International Law Section and its Employment Law Committee.  I am also currently co-Chair of the International Employment Law Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA), International Law Section, and Vice-Chair of its GIN (Gay Interest Network) Committee.  I am a member as well of the ABA's Labor and Employment Law Section and a member of that Section's EEO Committee.  Finally, I am a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), and serve as Bar Association Liason Officer of its Discrimination Law Committee/LGBT Working Group.

On a personal note, I like people, gardening, sports (spectator, at this point), books, reading the NY Times, theater, music, dogs, cats and children.  I have an old-style loyal nature, and have been with the Vedder Price firm since graduating from Law School.  In a previous life I almost finished a Ph.D. in English at Princeton and taught English Literature at the college level (U of Illinois, Indiana U) for 5 years.
