John Cullen Doherty

With over two decades of legal experience, John Doherty brings a wealth of knowledge and acumen in advising businesses of all stages to Tully Rinckey PLLC. John’s extensive track record of advising small-midsize companies across many industry sectors, as both general counsel and business consultant, makes him a valuable asset to companies seeking growth.

John oversees all commercial transactions, financial services, business consulting, commercial real estate and international tax structuring at the firm. He also has significant governance experience, having served on the Board of Directors of a public company and as a director and officer of numerous international funds.

In addition to significantly enhancing Tully Rinckey PLLC’s nationally-recognized law practice, John has the ability to elevate almost any business by acting as an “outsourced” General Counsel. Prior to joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, John managed and owned his own successful solo practice in New York City, and before that, served as general counsel to a well-known investment management firm. As a result of John’s extensive and diverse experience, he is able to give advice and legal counsel on anything from basic administrative and business issues to material transactions.

John obtained his juris doctorate from the Fordham University School of Law. He received his bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance from Fordham University College of Business Administration.
