Chris did a great job with my case. He managed my expectations in the beginning of the process, consulted me along the way and always made sure I knew the advantages and disadvantages of decisions we collectively needed to make. He is very knowledgable about the finanical industry and how they work legally, which very much helped me and my legal initiative successful. Chris is straight-forward and doesn't mess around. I was very please with his professionalism and the outcome of my case, and would recommend him to anyone that is pursuing action against any company in the financial services industry.
Chris displayed extreme professionalism. His dedication, research, and concern for his clients pocket book was displayed to the fullest when Chris tried my case. His diligence and perserverance were rewarded when we won our case. I have reccommended Chris to numerous friends who have concurred with my positive assessment.
I have represented the plaintiffs in numerous class actions including several cases alleging manipulation of the commodities futures markets, securities class actions, and shareholder rights cases. I am currently co-counsel for plaintiffs in a class action under the Commodities Exchange Act that has been resolved for $77.1 million, pending judicial approval. See In re Amaranth Natural Gas Commodities Litig., Docket No. 07-CV-6377 (SAS).
I represent investors in disputes with the securities and commodities industries in arbitration before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the National Futures Association. These cases typically take between 12 and 15 months to complete and, if not resolved via settlement, are decided by a panel of either one or three arbitrators. I typically accept these cases on a contingent fee basis if the facts merit accepting the representation.
I have devoted my practice almost exclusively to representing investors in securities and commodoties cases since the year 2000, including as an associate at a prominent New York City class action firm and in my own firm. I have significant experience in cases involving commodities futures trading and hedge funds, in both arbitration and in court. I handle both individual claims and class actions, exclusively representing the plaintiff.
I have tried approximately 20 cases to verdict or arbitration award in court and arbitration hearings, and have also argued a number of appeals in state end federal court.
I welcome challenging cases involving complex financial products and evolving legal issues, and many of my cases have resulted in reported case decisions in the state and federal courts.
When not working I spend most of my time with my wife and three children, oftentimes at hockey rinks throughout New England. Our family lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, which is a suburb just over the border from New York.

A Great Lawyer and Person
Chris became my lawyer for a FINRA Arbitration case in 2008. He listened to my complaint, filed notice soon after and engaged an expert witness. We discussed mediation, found it to be agreeable and approached the defendant who at first agreed and at the last minute reneged. At all times Chris kept me informed of the process, costs and developments.
In early 2009, the Arbitration Hearing took place near my home. Chris came down a full day early, met with me and my wife, discussed the case in detail, and gave appropriate advice. The hearing went on for four days and was difficult. Chris's Expert Witness was perfect. At all times Chris was knowable and demanding of the defendant.
As a result, the decision was in my favor with a nice financial award and the defendant required to pay all hearing costs. I felt vindicated and pleased that the losses I had suffered were replaced.
I give all the credit to Chris Jon Gray for the happy results. I would hire him again.
In early.
