Be Careful

Had a consultation at the firm, waited over an hour for assistance. The lawyer associate was friendly and nice and listened and then said we’ll charge such amount but we have to warn you, you’re going to lose. So why would I hire such a firm so they can take my money to lose?

Completely Ignored my Detailed Message

Sent alan a fairly detailed message about my situation and never got a reply. I guess you get what you pay for

Conflict of interest

Had a consul for the case with my landlord : holding rent due to repairs it wasn’t anything minor I didn’t have hot water in my shower for 6 month and they were acting like it’s no big deal till I stopped paying in order to get it fixed and some other tenant warranty violations. Mr Goldberg looked a...t the condo address where I live and said he had closings there. I wanted to hire legal help to help me get abatement on the amount of rent owned but he suggested that “I just pay the whole thing and he will keep a roof over my head as long as possible” I end up going self represented and negotiated a decent concession of 30% w out even going to trial (could have even been more if I went all the way in) I still live at my apt and now my landlord is fixing every little thing at the first text/call. MY ADVICE : Before hiring an attorney for your case always tell your property address first and ask would it be a conflict of interest? Not to waste anyone’s time

Do you consult by phone

15 minute evaluation Some prospective clients pressured on the spot I got zero substantive info It seems like this has become a family firm Prices are good though compared to most Manhattan law firm

Wasted time and money

Alan j.Goldberg reviewed my case and told me a lot good things that made me feels good but at the end it wasn’t the way how he told me and the results was the same, that I could get with a free lawyer, they just care about getting their money.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
