I have been practicing employment law for more than thirty years, first on behalf of management clients and, for approximately the last twenty years, on behalf of employees. I work for a small, highly regarded boutique law firm in midtown Manhattan that prides itself on personalized attention to every client and their needs. There are a number of areas that are the focus of my practice, among which are separation arrangements, employment agreements, non-competition provisions, employee speech issues and discrimination cases. During my years of practice I have been lead or co-counsel in more than fifteen trials, primarily in federal court. In all of those trials save one, my client prevailed. I also have representeed clients in a number of arbitrations and litigated before administrative agencies, including the New York State Division of Human Rights. Additionally, I have handled appeals both before the U.S. Second Circuit and state appellate courts and have taken part in more than thirty mediations, virtually all of which were successful. Further, I represent clients from a wide variety of fields, including financial services professionals, university professors, corporate executives and managers, union officials, bookkeepers, private school educators, administrators and employees of non-profit organizations. In 2014 I was elected as a Fellow in The College of Labor & Employment Lawyers, whose members are the top lawyers in the United States and Canada. I particularly enjoy practicing employment law because it gives me the opportunity to assist people with problems relating to their jobs -- one of the most important areas of one's life. My commitment to helping people find the best resolution possible of their employment problems gives me no less satisfaction now than it ever has.
