Charles Gershbaum

We are from out of state and were visiting NY. My wife fell on a slightly raised platform on the sidewalk and severely broke a bone in her hand. To the casual observer it might not have seemed like a serious injury, which is what the other side maintained, but Mr. Gershbaum immediately understood the... severity, kept us well-informed every step of the way and always gave us our options and his opinions (as well as his colleagues) as to the merits of the case and where he thought it was headed. He made us aware of the developments in NY State law that had the potential to impact the case and when a settlement was offered explained the possibilities and gave us his opinion but allowed us to make the decision without pushing in either direction. We were extremely happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Mr. Gershbaum for his knowledge, professionalism, understanding and overall performance and results.

I had property dispute with my relatives abroad. The foreign court gave judgment in favor of the plaintiff. They tried to convert foreign judgment to New York State judgment. I would highly recommend Mr. Gershbaum as an attorney. I hired Mr. Gershbaum when I was hit by a car while crossing the street. I don't even know where to begin with where the inefficiency and lack of competence with Gershbaum began. To start I heard no word from him for a year and when I finally did it was a lame attempt to cover his tracks. He did not file my paper work on time and then claimed he received a call months p...rior stating that I was not going through with the case that is why he did not file the necessary papers. I am an individual person not a company so there was no one to call him but myself and this did not take place. Despite my better judgement I stuck with Gershbaum which only led to more inaccuracies. Important Injury photos were sent to him THREE times of which he claimed he never received and were never entered into my case. He also failed to set up an approriate medical exam required by the courts and caused my case to have to settle at which the settlement does not even cover the cost of my injuries or any medical treatment necessary. He is a poor excuse of an attorney. He lacks communication, follow up (I had to become harrassing before receiving any form of response to my calls and voicemails) and constantly has an excuse for his ill performance. If you want to win your case Gershbaum is not your man.
