Tara came into our lives at just the right moment and from my first encounter with her I knew she was the one I wanted handling my son’s case. My son had a serious charge that had been handled by another attorney. While on probation for the initial charge, my son had a false charge made against h...im followed by an assault charge a few months later, to which he was totally justified, in my opinion. These new charges now had the potential of harming my son’s professional license, and to make matters worse, I was starting to lose faith in his retained attorney. This attorney started to question my son’s integrity, which in turn, made me question his. As faith would have it, his original attorney couldn’t appear in court for my son’s assault charge arraignment. Instead of offering to find me someone, I had to plead with him to get someone to appear on his behalf. Well, the stress of that morning was well worth it, this is the day Tara Whelan entered our lives. Tara immediately displayed genuine concern and calmed my fears. She fully explained the best and worse case scenarios in a professional and compassionate manner. Watching Tara enter the courtroom and gain immediate respect from all court staff was fascinating and extremely comforting. After court, Tara did not brush us off. My lawyer Tara was very professional honest and straight to the point. Tara has pulled unbelievable strings for me she pretty much got me out of something that was very serious and had noting to do with me but she proved my innocence in such a way that I would recommend her to everyone. It hasn't been easy to try and find words that match my gratefulness, admiration and respect that I have for Ms. Whelan, but I will certainly try. Before I go into detail about my experience with Ms. Whelan, I will simply state this... I first met Tara through a glass wall while I awaited arraignment... the morning after my arrest and before I even walked out of the courthouse that day I had already contacted my current attorney at the time (Who was and still is a friend that had been my attorney for 5 years) to inform him that I was going to be using different representation going forward, and I hired Ms. Whelan as soon as I could! There aren't enough great things I can say about the representation I received from Ms. Whelan. In addition to the intelligence and confidence she displayed within the courtroom, she also went above and beyond to constantly ease the worry and stress my mother and girlfriend had about my case, something that anyone who has found themselves in a similar situation would know is sometimes more important than managing your own stress and worry. At all times I felt that Ms. Whelan was representing me as if I were family and that she was doing everything within her power to get me the best possible outcome for my case. It is always a nervous and negative feeling when you have to deal with the criminal aspect of the judicial system. Tara is a lawyer that not only brings reassurance but will go out of her way to make sure the scale weighs back in your favor.
