Criminal cases are high stakes. As a criminal defense attorney, David Moreno cares about each of his clients and understands that the outcome of their cases will likely impact the rest of their lives.
The criminal justice system can work, but it is often flawed. David Moreno became a lawyer because of his desire to help people and protect the integrity of the system. He spent five years working in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office—the most prestigious in the country—as a public servant because he wanted to give back to his community. There, he served in the highly regarded Trial Bureau 50, which has sent many lawyers on to distinguished careers, including Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, and the late Robert F. Kennedy and John Kennedy Jr.
David is particularly adept as a trial lawyer. During his time as a prosecutor, he tried more than 15 cases to verdict, getting a conviction on all but one. He has handled almost every type of criminal case there is: attempted murder, identify theft, assault, robbery, sexual abuse, fraud, larceny, weapons possession, DWI, cybercrimes, narcotics sale, and narcotics possession.
David has the unique ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life and get the most out of them. Throughout his life, he has watched his mother, a well-regarded criminal defense attorney, try some of the most serious and notable cases of the past two decades. Watching her success and how she advocated for those in need of quality representation helped shape his commitment to his profession and clients.
In law school, David received numerous honors for leadership, oral advocacy, and trial advocacy, and was inducted into the highest honor society at the University of Miami School of Law. As a prosecutor, he worked hard to protect the rights of all parties involved and now uses that experience and knowledge to zealously advocate for his clients.
