Greedy, Incompent Lawyer

I hired Andrew Molbert to represent me in a child custody case in 2006. My child custody case was the longest in Yonkers family Court history, to no fault of my own, but because Andrew and the other attorneys unnecessarily over litigated this case. The judge was scolded Molbert frequently in court fo...r lack of preparation, later I learned that Molbert did not have experience in family law and took my case. Prior to this custody case, I've had no experience with the America Court system so I was an absolute prey for Molbert who took over 100K dollars to litigate a custody case because he knew that the other parent had over 200K is assets because of the financial disclosures. His lack of experience and knowledge in family law, allowed the other attorney to manipulate the legal system and in turn cause me and my son, years of anxiety and stress. There were several times during the case where I feared I would have lost custody of my son because the judge disliked Molbert. He stutters excessively which exhausted the Judge’s patience. His lack of knowledge in family law was quite evident as the judge often scolded him for lack of preparation and extensive subpoena request, litigious behaviors as he often communicated with the other attorney and yet nothing was ever being resolved and always resulted in the judge making a decision. All of this I was unaware of at the time. Half way through the case, I ran out of money to pay Molbert who at the time, had me sign a blank confession of judgement form, which I did after he quoted me an amount of 15-20K more remaining. After custody was determined (I received residential custody) Molbert sent me a bill for over 116K dollars because he knew that I would get child support and turn those checks over to him. Molbert knew that legally, I could not use the child support checks to pay my legal bills but still wanted me to do this. Much like singing a blank confession of judgment. I’m sharing my experience with you so that you don’t make the same mistakes I did. The only thing Molbert cares about is money, how much of it you have and how best he can get it all.
