I enjoy assisting individuals and companies to strive and thrive, while balancing legal risks against the business opportunities, or just minimizing legal risks, if that is the client's priority.  As a former business & legal affairs executive, advising clients from conception through implementation and execution of their business ideas from a business opportunity perspective as well as a legal perspective, and resolving legal issues with business, rather than just legal, solutions, is my value add. A renegotiation of an agreement usually is a lot less costly than loss of a relationship or a law suit. I identify latent business opportunities for growth of which my clients are unaware. Where the client saw only a series of books, I saw a potential franchise, and structured the relevant agreements, accordingly, allowing the publisher to not only continue to publish the series even if the original author stopped writing, but also to continue to license rights in the series for consumer products, television shows, movies, etc.; the franchise template I devised was a novelty in the publishing industry.  And, with a hybrid, unconventional intellect, I often am able to solve legal issues and impasses in negotiations where attorneys with more conventional intellects fail to see any solutions.  Where one of the top video game attorneys in the world failed to see a solution to a contract negotiation impasse, I saw the solution by borrowing a concept from the book publishing industry, specifically, a first proceeds clause. I devise practical remedies for grant agreements against organizations which are immune from contractual as well as tort liability, such as UN agencies. Sliding fee schedule available with an option to lower the fee level for consultations in exchange for a higher fee level for non-consultative services.
