My practice touches all aspects of long term disability and life insurance claims, including litigation matters, administrative appeals, alternative dispute resolution, and claims-level advocacy. The detailed guidance and aggressive tactics I provide are designed to obtain the best possible outcome.
I have broad experience handling high stakes and complex legal matters. Over the years, I’ve provided counseling and advice to public and private companies, executives, and directors. I’ve also aggressively litigated at all levels of state and federal courts, including several complex class action proceedings.
I graduated with honors from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. I also graduated with honors from the University of Michigan Law School where I was a book review editor for the Michigan Law Review. Books – especially political biographies, histories, and thrillers – continue to be a passion of mine.

"I am an attorney who regularly refers matters to the Maddox Firm and also collaborates with Matt on behalf of our clients in common. My clients love Matt and his team. Matt is a tremendous attorney--smart, diligent, creative and always honest and reliable. He's the best in the business when it comes to disability claims."
"Matthew Maddox is a tenacious advocate on behalf of individuals with disabilities. He is highly competent in the niche and complicated area of ERISA long term disability benefits law -- both at the administrative level and in litigation. I have witnessed how his creative and flexible thought process has benefited his clients. He always goes the extra mile to think outside of the box and overcome obstacles. Just as important, he is a compassionate attorney who genuinely cares about his clients. Matthew’s rare blend of human kindness and legal expertise set him apart from the rest. I fully endorse him."
