Ryan J. Mr. Clark’s background in both family and criminal law is an important advantage for any client facing overlapping family and criminal matters, including domestic violence restraining order cases, and companion domestic violence criminal charges. He has litigated for both the plaintiff and the defendant in domestic violence matters. Mr. Clark is also highly skilled in filing marital tort Tevis Claims in divorce proceedings.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Clark was an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, New York. During his tenure, Mr. Clark was chosen to join the Major Crimes Career Criminal Bureau as a riding ADA where he worked hand in hand with the NYPD on hundreds of investigations which included crimes for endangering the welfare of a child, domestic violence, kidnapping, murder, attempted murder, gun possession, drug possession, and felony assault. His duties as a rider also included advising the NYPD on search and seizure issues and drafting search warrants. Mr. Clark’s unique experience with police investigations provides invaluable experience in preparing his clients’ cases that involve the presence of a police report as a key piece of evidence. Mr. Clark was also assigned to a felony trial bureau where he handled more than a thousand felony cases. His trial experience included directing and cross-examining expert witnesses, skills that he frequently calls upon in his client legal matters that involve expert witnesses.
Mr. Clark received his Juris Doctorate from City University of New York School of Law and is also a graduate of Rutgers University (B.A.). In college, he studied abroad in South Africa where he started a prosecutor’s program to help country’s legal system to prioritize the prosecution of domestic violence crimes. He has also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia.
Born and raised in Freehold New Jersey, Mr. Clark is a proud member of his local community where he resides with his family.
