I focus primarily on advising and representing small businesses in labor and employment matters. With both state and federal governments stepping up their audit and enforcement actions it is important for businesses to get HR right. I work with businesses before something goes wrong to make sure that they are getting their HR function right, advise regarding dealing with problematic employees, do confidential investigations into employee misconduct or allegations of harassment and discrimination, assist in evaluating FMLA, FLA, and ADA requests made by employees, negotiate employment contracts and severance agreements, and represent employers before administrative agencies like the DOL and EEOC as well as in court.
