Use only if money are not an issue.

Mr. Shapiro is the good lawyer. I have used him in two FALSE TRO accusations against me and he proved to the court that they were false. He is VERRY expensive and cleaned out my bank account, I even had to borrow the funds to pay him. I had other things that needed to be done, continuation of the mat...ter and he asked the court to be dismissed as my attorney, which, he was granted. He was friendly and knowledgable to deal with. From the Business point of view, I can understand him requesting to be dismissed. From the moral point of view? - I would question that. All in All, If you have unlimited source of funds then, he might be an attorney for you. However, If you do have the budget to work with and you do not have the unlimited source of funds, I would look elsewhere first.

To correct some of the incorrect aspects of this review, it must be said that amounts that a lawyer charges are a function of the amounts of work that the client asks the lawyer to perform and what is required to be put into a case to handle the case competently. Issues which are of enormous personal and/or professional importance to the client require that a lawyer do all that is necessary to properly protect the client's interests, which is what was done in this case. In fact, however, the rates that I charge for matrimonial and/or family law are below what other attorneys in my area charge. I do that in recognition of the fact that clients in South Jersey often do not have unlimited resources. There are many reasons why a case becomes more expensive. Suffice it to say, a case which at first seems simple can become more expensive due to a number of factors, which include matters relating to each individual client and the sometimes unanticipated issues that arise in an emotional and hotly contested family law case. Moreover, New Jersey's Rules of Professional Conduct -- the rules which govern the conduct of lawyers -- provide a number of legally acceptable reasons for a lawyer to be permitted to withdraw from representing a client by filing a motion with the court. When an appropriate showing is made permitting a lawyer to withdraw from a particular representation, a court of law may grant the lawyer's request.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
