Ashley M. Zimmerman is an associate with McOmber McOmber & Luber P.C. in the firm’s Marlton, New Jersey office. She concentrates her practice on employment law and civil litigation, representing clients in matters involving discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims.
Prior to joining McOmber McOmber & Luber, Ashley practiced at a full-service firm where she represented both public and private clients across a broad range of practice areas, including education law, family law, personal injury, and general civil litigation. She also represented employees and employers in workers’ compensation matters in court and before the New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation.
Ashley previously served as General Counsel to the Camden City School District, where she advised the District on labor and employment issues, personnel actions, employee discipline and investigations, OPRA and public records requests, contract drafting, review and interpretation, student records requests, and special education matters.
Before entering private practice, Ashley clerked for the Honorable Michael J. Silvanio, J.S.C. in the Gloucester County Superior Court, where she drafted bench memoranda, final orders, and other legal documents for the Gloucester and Salem County Recovery Court. She also mediated small claims cases in the Special Civil Part as a certified court mediator.
Ashley graduated magna cum laude from Rowan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School – Camden on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. During law school, she held numerous leadership roles, including President of the Student Bar Association, Managing Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and Vice President of the Animal Legal Defense Fund. She was also a member of the National Trial Team. Ashley delivered remarks at her law school commencement ceremony and received the Dean’s Service Award for her contributions to the law school and the surrounding community.
While in law school, Ashley served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Timothy W. Chell, P.J.Cv. and as a legal extern for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ashley was elected to the Mantua Township Board of Education at age nineteen, becoming one of the youngest women elected to public office in her community. She later served on the Township’s Land Use Board and Board of Health.
Ashley currently resides in Camden County, New Jersey. Outside of her practice, she enjoys practicing yoga, relaxing at the Jersey Shore, cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, and spending time with her family, friends, and three French bulldogs.
