Joseph P Testa

Judge Testa’s 40-year career has centered on the effective management and resolution of thousands of family law cases beginning with his family law practice and continuing through his highly regarded tenure on the bench in Cumberland County.

As a well-respected Family Law attorney and judge, he has been asked to speak at many different venues over his career, including the Judicial College and the NJ Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He was an Associate Professor at Rutgers University School of Law.

Judge Testa, a retired Colonel in the United States Army was also a professor and legal instructor at the prestigious United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and sits on the Family Law Section Executive Committee of the NJ State Bar Association. Judge Testa is also responsible for the groundbreaking Kids Count program established in Cumberland County to help kids deal with separation and divorce.

Because of the complexity and emotionally charged issues involving family law, Judge Testa’s insight and experience on both sides of the bench uniquely suit him for the role of mediator and arbitrator. Judge Testa (Ret) joins Adinolfi and Lieberman in an Of Counsel role. He is able to prepare and negotiate all aspects of divorce and custody matters, as well as act as a mediator or arbitrator in family law cases.
