Michael James Riccobono

Michael J. Riccobono devotes the majority of his practice to employment litigation and counseling on behalf of employers. His experience includes defending against discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, retaliation, tort and contract claims, violation of non-compete agreements, and wage and hour claims in both state and federal courts. Mr. Riccobono also advises clients on a wide range of employment law issues, including the drafting of handbooks, employment contracts, medical-leave, restrictive covenants and severance agreements. In addition, he has experience in all facets of expedited litigation and injunction proceedings. 

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Michael worked in the Employment and Labor Law Department at Gibbons P.C. in Newark, New Jersey.  Michael is also a former judicial law clerk to the Honorable Patricia K. Costello, former Assignment Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Essex County, where his responsibilities included analyzing and summarizing motions and orders to show cause in complex commercial, zoning, and election matters.  During law school, Michael served as a legal intern to the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where he gained experience with employment discrimination cases involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
