August J Landi Jr

August Landi brings over fifty years of experience to the practice of family law. He has personally represented clients in over 2500 divorce cases. He has innovated in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution; and is considered to be the first attorney in the State of New Jersey regularly engaged in Mediation - commencing in 1975. His objectivity, insight, legal skills, and advocacy abilities result in referrals from legal professionals, present and former clients, and practitioners within the psychological community.

The Court recognizes Mr. Landi’s abilities, regularly appointing him as a Guardian Ad Litem, for children involved in difficult family litigation.

Mr. Landi is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Monmouth County Bar Association; and a past member of the Supreme Court committee on Alternate Dispute Resolution. He regularly services as an Early Settlement Panelist for the Court’s of Monmouth County. He is selected by his peers to serve as an Arbitrator to resolve contentious equitable distribution, alimony, child support and related issues, in lieu of trial on the merits.

Mr. Landi is experienced in custody disputes dealing with parental alienation, and the resolution of such disputes either through trial or alternate dispute interventions. He utilizes state of the art computers at his office; and reviews new cases within 24 hours of their being published by the Appellate Division and New Jersey Supreme Court.

AUGUST LANDI is a graduate of Colgate University (1961), and Columbia University School of Law (1965). Following law school he clerked for two Superior Court Judges in Bergen County New Jersey: the Honorable Conrad Schneider, JSC - civil division; and Joseph W. Marini, JSC - family court division. (1965-1966). He then served as a United States Army Captain assigned to the Judge Advocate General Corps. for the period 1966 - 1971; handling over 200 military trials.

Since 1971 he has been a resident of Monmouth County.
