I was facing a DUI with a 7 month suspension. While I had plenty of referrals for lawyers from friends and family to use I am so glad I decided to do research and found avvo.com. The reviews led me to Mr. Lederman and the reviews don't lie. Mr. Lederman is great! Being very unknown in the laws a...nd court systems, Mr. Lederman spent the time to explain and go over everything and answered any questions I had. He walked me through the process and gave me a peace of mind during the long process when I wasn't sure what was going to happen next. He was able to get the DUI down to reckless driving with a 90 day suspension. He knows what he is talking about and will give you straight information and not sugar coat the bad stuff. I fully recommend him if you are facing DUI charges in NJ.

I hired Mr. Lederman to represent me for a DWI, Reckless Driving, and Underage DUI charges. He worked with my parents and I to give us a great understanding of what was going on and what to expect. He was extremely thorough with the discovery and walked us through every page of the information that h...e received. He highlighted the important sections that would be key in making a strong case on my behalf. This is not an easy experience and is very stressful on the one being charged and his or her loved ones. He was very understanding of my parents and was very nice to my mother when she was upset or did not understand what he was talking about. In the end he was able to get the blood results thrown out, which led to the prosecutor dropping all the severe charges. While in court the judge attempted to sneak hidden charges and certain information that should have been suppressed but was not. He immediately identified this and fought back instantly winning on my behalf. Ultimately, I ended up with: loss of license for 90 days, $33 in court charges, 12 hours of alcohol counseling, and 20 day of community service. I would suggest that anyone who can afford this level of representation to do so because you do not want to end up with a DWI conviction. Mr. Lederman will do everything within his power to make sure this does not happen.

Peter was great. He was calming but firm in his instructions. He was reassuring but real with the expectations. Peter's relationships with the prosecutor led to the chief of police coming down to the courthouse to discuss my case prior to going before the judge! The chief's son was the officer that ...got me, so this was a delicate situation to say the least. The prosecutor had the chief, whom Peter also knew well, come down to see what could be done. After Peter and he chatted some, the chief agreed to dismiss the dwi and to reduce it to wreckless driving and only a 3 month suspension. The chief had his son sign off on that and the prosecutor without any hesitation whatsoever told the judge there was not enough evidence for the dwi. Be patient, as it took 3 trips to the courthouse, and let Peter do his thing. Thanks to Peter and his secretary Jessica for saving my butt! He doesn't come cheap, but he's worth it.

Where do I start with my gratitude and sheer reverence for the excellent job Peter has done in both my DWI cases. I was facing a 3rd offense in 2009 , speeding when officer pulled me over, realized I had a few drinks, and charged me with DWI. Peter wrote an excellent PCR( Post Conviction Relief) pet...ition, which got my 2nd offense essentially thrown out , allowing the 3rd offense to become my 2nd for sentencing purposes. This got me 2 years suspension instead of 10 and no jail time. Peter accomplished this even though the petition was outside the 5 year period , he was able to persuade the judge to hear our PCR and agree to the relief! This was no small feat and took a lawyer with the knowledge and expertise Peter possesses to accomplish that. In 2014 , I was again in the same predicament , facing a 3rd offense after a car crash that only involved my car. I was not driving the vehicle when the officer arrived, but because I was noticeably intoxicated and the only person on the scene; the officer proceeded to arrest me and charge me with DWI. Blood was drawn to prove the intoxication and the case went to the courts. Peter filed motions to suppress the blood evidence and expertly argued the case before the superior court. He filed other motions to try to ensure all available defenses/legal arguments where presented. Through and because of Peter’s legal maneuvering , court felt they could not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt , and dismissed the DWI ! I plead guilty to reckless driving with 30 days license suspension and court fines. I cannot express what this has done for my family, Peter has given us our future back , a fresh start. Not only did he do his job as my defense lawyer, he also took keen interest in my treatment . Peter challenged me to get help and do any and all available alcohol rehabilitation to get well and remove alcohol from my life. Mr Peter. Lederman represented me in my dwi case, for a small town in nj called South river. My case dragged out for a couple weeks short of a year. As with any serious matter in life, obviously it was stressful and nerve wrecking from the moment I was charged with a dwi to my final court date. I con...sulted with Mr. Lederman and was immediately relieved and felt a sense of hope upon leaving his office. Now i would like to mention at the time Peter was referred to me I had already hired and PAID for an attorney for my case, but I was told at very least meet with the guy, and so I did. I met with him and I was a little discouraged because at the time the price tag seemed a little high, and again I had already hired and paid for another attorney. We sat down, we talked, we laughed and then we got serious. Peter is straightforward and blunt, if your looking for someone to tell you a fairy tale and or to lead you on, then hire any other attorney. To make a long story short i was hoping for anything, but a dwi conviction. We aimed for a wreck less driving and I walked out with a careless driving conviction. Which is better than a wreck less driving ticket and obviously ten times better than a dwi conviction. If I could have fast forwarded from the time I met him to my final hearing, I would have paid him DOUBLE what he was asking. I did the same thing your doing now, I looked him up, I read these very same reviews that I'm writing, and that's why I decided to meet him. HIRE PETER! And most importantly follow the steps he asks you to take. Obviously everyone's results will be different, but I can guarantee you his results will be much better than you anticipate, and better than anyone else you could potentially hire. Good luck folks, you won't regret it! P.s the craziest part of my experience with all this, after my case was finally resolved. I only paid $228 dollars in fines.
