In the summer of 2019, I found myself at a critical turning point in my life, but not the type of turning point you might expect on this site. I was waiting to start a new job out of state in the fall of 2019 and thought the jersey shore would be a wonderful place to spend some time while I waited. I...t certainly was. At least until I made a mistake that had the potential to cost me the career I was so anxiously awaiting. In mid-summer I concluded a day at the beach with dinner and a few drinks before heading home. This was totally out of character for me and only minutes later I learned a hard lesson, when I saw lights in my rear-view mirror. I was pulled over for a minor traffic violation and was soon asked to step out of the car. If you are reading this, you likely know firsthand how the rest of this story goes. I was eventually charged with a second tier DWI due to having a BAC of .17. I faced fines, insurance surcharges, a license suspension, placement of an interlock device in my vehicle, embarrassment and, at best, difficulty with my future job. I simply do not have words to express how grateful I am for Peter, Jessica and Noreen. With this experience behind me I now know that the worst decision I’ve ever made – getting behind the wheel - got me into this situation. I contacted Peter after receiving a 2nd dui. My irresponsibility caused me to face a 2nd dui within 5 years. I had used Peter for my first DUI and knew the knowledge and attention to detail he uses. He began building my case but also pushing me to rebuild my life via alcohol counseling and AA meeting...s. The case appeared to be a solid case against me but Peter attacked it from every possible angle. His preparation prior to trial was super, but it paled in comparison to his performance in the courtroom. I was left speechless when I witness how he took what appeared to be a open and shut case and convert it to a weak case. The knowledge that Peter holds and his ability to use it is nothing short than brilliant. At the end of the case, he convinced the prosecution to dismiss the DUI and instead charge me with a reckless and a 1 year suspension. Although one always wishes for a full dismissal, this is the best result possible. The consequences of a 2nd DUI are huge and there is no bargaining down. Peter's preparation, knowledge, and courtroom performance allowed me the opportunity to avoid a 2nd DUI and receive a lesser charge. If you find yourself in this predicament, make sure you hire the best... and the best is Peter. He is not a cheap lawyer but the cost of his services are well worth it. Remember, at the end you are in this position because of your own fault, you already made a mistake by drinking and driving, don't make another mistake by hiring a "cheap" lawyer because you will receive subpar "cheap" services. Even the judge mentioned at the end that we witnessed some fine "lawyer work" today in the courtroom. Thank you Peter for helping me and (I know you heard this before but ) sincerely I appreciate the new opportunity you afforded me and I will not be seeing you again, at least not for court issues; perhaps for a cigar one day, but this is my last mistake with alcohol.
