Miraculous

I do not know how to thank Mr. Lederman enough. I have had 2 previous DUI's. I got busted again here in NJ. I've been through the legal system before so I knew being convicted as a mulitple offender is exponentially worse. My case was not very defendable as I scored 3x the legal limit on my breat...h test. Mr. Lederman is an authority on impared driving law and from what I gather on the forefront of drinking and driving legistation. Mr. Lederman was able to argue that one of my convictions was out of state and somehow got the prosecution to agree to ask the judge to sentence me as a first time offender. I was looking at 10 years loss of license, $$$$ in fines, and jail time as a 3x offender but miraculously the judge sentenced me as a first time offender. I did not even receive the maximums for first offense. 10 months later I am driving again! Bravo Mr. Lederman thank you thank you thank you

Nervous and Ashamed, I found a Solution

The morning after my arrest for drunk driving I felt like the weight of the world was now on my shoulders. What am I going to do now? Who is going to help me? How are the consequences of my actions going to impact the rest of my life? The best advice I received by far was that I need to protect... my self. I was facing criminal charges, loss of license, and fines and surcharges. I needed some serious assistance for what I was facing. I received dozens of solicitations from lawyers in the mail which did two things: First, I realized I was vulnerable. Here I was at a serious personal crossroad and all these strangers are offering uninvited advice pointing out the magnitude of the situation and need for competent legal representation. Secondly, I need to do some research and due diligence. My background is in finance so I followed the steps I had used in my career. I asked people in my trusted circle what to do, I learned as much as I could about the process, and I looked for the “Best of Breed”. My homework paid off. It led me to Peter Lederman. We met for an initial consultation in his office. While we went over some of the facts t of the case we mostly spoke about expectations, what I would have to do, and what he could bring to the table. What a relief. I felt like I could live again and that I was going to make it through this ugly episode in my life. That is when I decided to hire him. Peter asked me to write and exact and truthful account of the events of the evening. We then met and went over it. This is when his expertise became even more evident. He asked lots of questions, but as important he answered all of my questions. His staff was amazing during the process as well. Peter showed up at every court appearance prepared and seemed to know the reputation of not only the current judge and prosecution but those that came before them. The cost was a consideration but I was prepared for that since I was, in actuality, spending the money on myself. The results showed. I would not hesitate having him represent me again and he has even represented one of my friends, but I am looking to stay far away from that part of the law.

Too late in the game to care.

He's been licensed for 35 years, he has awards and is experienced, he knows what he's doing. I received four tickets, DWI, Leaving the scene of an accident, Failure to notify police of an MVA, and Careless driving. I talked to someone who has a pretty good knowledge of Municipal Courts and DWI ...cases, they told me that I would get the three tickets dropped but the DWI, being the most serious, would stick. He said this would happen to make it look like my lawyer did his job, the prosecutor did his, and the judge was decent enough to not bring down the hammer on some kid who has no priors and who obviously isn't the sc*m of the earth. When I first met him he made it seem like I had a good chance of being found not guilty, than slowly as it got closer to the final verdict my chances got worse and worse, 'till finally four days before judgement day he straight up told me the best I could hope for was everything dropped except the DWI, no s--t...that sounds familiar. I received the minimum sentence, seven months loss of license, surcharges and court fees. Even though I was told of my good chance considering my circumstances; not being caught in the act of driving while intoxicated, police showing up 30 minutes after the accident, being found in my house, 2 LED light bars running while I was given my sobriety test, plus a couple more, looked like an easy win, at least that's how he made is seem. I have no problem accepting the responsibilities of my stupid actions, but if I pay a professional $6,500+ to try and get me out of it I expect better results. I payed around $500 in court charges and $3,000 DWI surcharge, pretty much half of what it cost for Mr. Lederman to get me what a fresh out of college attorney could have done, for half the price. Whether it was cause I was just a kid and he didn't give a s--t or cause he's set for retirement he certainly didn't give two s***s about me and my verdict. Anyone who's been ticketed for DWI, look for an up and coming DWI attorney who is looking to make a name for themselves. They'll probably cost half as much and I'm sure they'll care about your case.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Peter is one of the most knowledgeable attorneys I have had the privilege of working with. He is incredibly well-versed in DUI/DWI law, with the seemingly effortless ability to cite cases and make cohesive arguments that win the day. I had the immense good-fortune of working with him on a DUI as co-counsel, and I gained a lot of insight into how to approach those cases due to his careful consideration and analysis of the facts. He was respectful and encouraging of my work product, while also giving me constructive feedback. He even put on a masterclass in how to handle client interactions. With his vast experience and his breadth of knowledge, Peter is definitely the advocate that you want on your side."

"Peter is an outstanding and well known attorney in the community with substantial experience handling DWI matters. I had the pleasure of attending one of his CLE seminars, gaining valuable knowledge in his field of DWI defense. He went above and beyond by staying after the lecture to answer questions and offered himself as a resource for any future issues. He has on countless occasions provided me with valuable information and insight into the art of defending a DWI case."

"Peter is both a talented lawyer and a consummate gentleman. I have both taken ICLE seminars he has been a part of as well as observed him in court. I was in court on an occasion that Peter was in the middle of trying a DWI case. Now normally municipal court trials are not the most interesting cases to watch but I do take the opportunity to observe them when I am already in court to see if I can pick up some tips. Well I got more than that on the day I saw him. I got to see him skillfully poke holes in the prosecutors case while still remaining respectful to all involved. His client went from a DWI with other related charges to a ticket with low fines and no points. I can't remember the violation because it is so difficult to get for your client even in a speeding case where unsafe operation is a good result. He gave me his card and told me to call if I ever had any questions. The bottom line is not only did he call me back he gave me his cell #. He is a Lawyer's Lawyer"
