Nancy Murray Horta, Esq. is the most amazing, professional, devoted divorce attorney. Let me start by saying, I hired an attorney that screwed me so bad. In the middle of the process, I realized that I had to switch firms. Immediately that Nancy took my case, I started to see things turn in my favor,... only because it was the fair thing to do. She dedicated her time to review everything that happened, created strategies to repair the damage and finally worked on the issues pending, with my kid’s best interest as a priority. She did not always agreed with me, but, was very professional in her explanation as to why. She stayed focus on bringing the case to a closure and was very conscientious of the cost. She did not waste time in negotiating or writing letters in response to non important issues. She did not allow the adversary to distract her as her goal was to reach fruitful negotiations and speed the settlement process. Nancy is very professional. Her charisma and her passion to defend her client during the most difficult process of the divorce was always present when I was desperate or perhaps felt that the legal system was not fair. She lend an ear, even when I was repeating myself, just because I was frustrated and overwhelmed. Our appointments were always kept and I never had to worry that she would be late to court. Nancy is an outstanding negotiator. Her style is not to harass, humiliate or to create embellished lies just to be able to extend the length of her communication or to create non productive controversy which obviously would not be cost effective. She stays focused to the point and communicates clearly in her motions, which is why, when the case had to go in front of the judge, her character was very well respected. I must say this got us very far. In addition, she has great relationship with many of the mediators, which, again I must repeat, caused us to reach fair settlements without very high litigation costs. Don’t get fooled by her young and sweet look. She is a feisty and brilliant attorney. I may not have gotten everything I wanted in my divorce; but, I did get what was important to move on and lead a successful life after the divorce.
