I had a rather straightforward motion and the judge had already ruled favorably on the emergency order. Matt did not use any of the evidence I gave him and he became very passive aggressive when I asked him why. He said all that evidence would be used at the plenary hearing. Matt was totally unprepared for the motion hearing and as a result we were denied the motion for a plenary hearing. The judge yelled at him "I gave you five weeks to prepare counselor, and you brought me nothing!" She wanted to rule in my favor but because of Matt's unpreparedness, she couldn't. This error cost my children the opportunity to attend one of the best charter schools in the nation. It cost me tens of thousands of dollars in additional legal fees over the next 18 months. After losing the motion, Matt took off on a vacation, leaving my new counselors scrambling to comply with the 5 day rule without a transcript or his help. When he returned from his trip, I asked him to return my retainer, and he refused.

I had to file a post judgement motion to my divorce from 2008 and Matt was willing to help. I was doing this Pro Se and the paperwork had my head spinning. He would spend our time helping me understand what each section was about and how to properly write down what was occurring in coordination with my evidence. Matt was readily available whenever i had to contact him with a question. I would not have made it through the process without him being there for me. I will recommend him to any of my friends, family or colleagues.
