Biography
I have practiced law since 1989 and am the Managing Attorney of Nachman, Phulwani, Zimovcak & Batra (NPZ & B) Law Group, P.C., also known as VISASERVE. I founded the firm’s predecessor, Nachman & Associates, in 1993.
Most of my practice is business immigration. I help employers of all sizes hire and keep foreign national employees through H-1B, L-1 intracompany transfer, and other work visas, PERM labor certification, and employment-based green cards. I also advise companies on Form I-9 compliance, E-Verify, H-1B site visits, FDNS investigations, and Department of Labor wage and hour audits, and I handle consular processing for clients around the world. NPZ & B also represents individuals and families in family-based immigration and naturalization.
Immigration often overlaps with corporate and employment law. I help foreign nationals set up U.S. business entities to support their visa applications, and I work with employers’ in-house and outside counsel on hiring, layoffs, and furloughs involving visa holders.
I earned a B.S. from Georgetown University and a J.D. and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. Before 2003, I chaired the business immigration law department at Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman. I am a former Chair of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), taught paralegal studies as an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and moderate the annual “Immigration Law Basics” program for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
