This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.
This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
Jay’s comment: “This reciprocal discipline was the result of a case in New York in 1997 (18 years ago), when I first started practicing law. We were successful in dismissing the client's criminal case. The client then cancelled his credit card payment because he said he overpaid us, as the case was dismissed after only two court appearances. Regrettably, several unprofessional letters were sent out from my office. I took responsibility for the conduct of my employee and have moved on from mistake”
