Erika Handler earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan where she graduated with high honors. She obtained her law degree from the Rutgers University School of Law, where she served as the Chairperson of the Women’s Law Forum and Managing Research Editor of the Computer and Technology Law Journal. During law school, Ms. Handler served as a law clerk for the Attorney General’s Office, Division of Youth and Family Services, Newark and volunteered with the law school’s Special Education Clinic working to secure school accommodations for children with special needs. Prior to entering into private practice, Ms. Handler served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Thomas L. Weisenbeck, J.S.C., Morris County Family Part (now retired). These positions afforded her the opportunity to serve a vast array of clients while sharpening her advocacy and mediation skills.
Ms. Handler is admitted to the New Jersey Bar and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and Union County Bar Association. She is an active participant in her community serving as the Co-Chair of Membership for her temple and member of the Mayor of Scotch Plain’s Wellness Committee.
When not at the office, Ms. Handler enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, listening to podcasts and running outdoors.
