Donovan C Bezer

Donovan Bezer practices real estate litigation, commercial litigation, and municipal law. He has won 75% of the cases he has tried to judgment, and an appeal. He has published numerous legal articles in the area of construction litigation, and real estate and local government law.

Mr. Bezer has been a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association (ABA), and the Hudson Inn of Court. In 2009, Mr. Bezer won a national ABA writing contest for his article entitled, “The Inadequacy of Surety Bid Bonds in Public Construction Contracting.” The article was published in the Public Contracting Law Journal.

On behalf of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, Donovan Bezer has served as a mock trial judge, and lectured middle school students about the practice of law. Mr. Bezer has served on the Board of Trustees of Art House, Inc., a multi-arts nonprofit in Jersey City, N.J., and the Board of Directors of Partners in Prevention, a nonprofit organization in Hudson County, New Jersey. Mr. Bezer was lead Counsel to the 2009 reelection campaign of Jersey City Councilman Steven Fulop (Ward E), and counsel to Steven Fulop's mayoral campaign in 2013.

At Rutgers University School of Law, Mr. Bezer was Managing Technology Editor for the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal.
