I began my legal career representing immigrants on the fast-paced detained docket in New York City's immigration courts. I was part of a program called NYIFUP, a pro bono, universal representation practice for immigrants who had been arrested by ICE -- basically, a public defender for immigration court.

Since August 2023, I have been working as an associate attorney with Tenreiro Law, LLC, a firm dedicated to effectively and humanely handling immigration matters. Immigrating to the United States can be complicated, so we bring a calming and professional approach to each situation.

My experience includes representing people in immigration court and before the the Board of Appeals (BIA), in both Removal Proceedings and Bond Proceedings. I have handled courtroom applications for Asylum, Cancellation of Removal, and Voluntary Departure. I have also successfully applied for Prosecutorial Discretion with ICE, obtaining their agreement to Dismiss or Administratively Close certain cases.   

I also have experience representing clients in affirmative immigration applications,including Asylum, U-Visas, T-Visas, Lawful Permanent Resident status (green card) through family-member petition and VAWA self-petition, and Naturalization.  

 
I have successfully and gladly represented diverse clients from many countries. I also have a strong commitment to and interest in providing legal assistance to my fellow members of the LGBTQ community, and I have successfully represented LGBTQ clients in asylum and other matters.
