Haywood Martin Wise

Having been driven from pillar to post by our local Prefecture for almost 3 months in attempting to obtain a "Visa de long Séjour" for my American wife (she being married to a UK European citizen), I effected a Google search for a French Visa lawyer and found Haywood Wise! The Gods were definite...ly looking out for us on that day: I emailed Haywood from his site on a Friday evening and received a personal phone call from him the very next Saturday morning! ( VERY unusual in France): he set our minds at rest and took on our application. As a UK Citizen, born in France, but having spent the last 35 years in the US, the intricacies of our situation were several, but Haywood's presentation of our dossier and covering letter was a thing of beauty and efficiency, as sure enough the previously recalcitrant Prefecture's "Bureau des Etrangers" started to respond. After a second intervention by Haywood on our behalf (in which he elegantly pointed out certain salient aspects of pertinent French Law in relation to the residency rights of European citizens and their non-European family members ), we received a dossier number, followed a few days later by a "Récépissé": We our now awaiting our "Convocation" ( interview) for the actual Visa, which should be arriving in the next 3 weeks or so. Haywood took many of my phone calls during the process, and patiently explained the working of the system, suggested appropriate (and very effective and affordable) answers to specific problems we were having ( Health Insurance coverage for France and the Schengen area, Certified translators). His team was also very helpful and courteous at all times. I have referred Haywood to a friend in Canada in a similar situation, and Haywood was most helpful in his case also. Haywood 's fees were most reasonable, and doing business with him has been a pleasure: I feel that he "has my back" in this situation. Highly recommended in French-US Visa issues: I wish I had called on him earlier; it would have made my wife's and my situation a lot less stressful and easier!

Haywood and his colleague Karim worked diligently on my case over an extended period of time and Haywood proved his knowledge of immigration procedures, as well as his confidence and willingness to propose different approaches to the consulate and the prefecture. My case was particularly difficult... for several reasons. First was that I am an American with German residency, meaning that I am emigrating from Germany to France. Second, my profession in cinema as an independent screenplay reader is particularly difficult to sell to the authorities, as few have heard of it, it is unregulated, and just plain weird. He led the preparation of a very detailed, extensive dossier for the consulat in Francfort and thereafter he continued to provide guidance for me with regards to registering at the prefecture of police. He also took care of the first steps of registering with URSSAF. The dossier was professional, extremely well-organized, and contained so much information that I could use it at many of the bureaucratic steps that came after the consulat for which it was prepared. Just the mere sight of it had the local authorities ready to grant me paper. The process was long but only because of the authorities, not because of Haywood and crew. Without them I would have gone astray at any number of points on the road. I would highly recommend Haywood and his team to handle even the more bizarre immigration cases, and most certainly the simpler ones that just need some tweaking or expediting. Bon courage!

I located Haywood Wise by way of his Internet page, reviewed an article he had authored and then visited his office in Paris. I hired Mr Wise at once, after a short interview to prepare the paperwork necessary to apply for my Visa for a long term stay in France. He handled this very quickly and wi...th no problems whatsoever, and I was able to return to the US with the application package and a scheduled appointment at the French Consulate. The interview at the Consulate went smoothly - they were clearly impressed with the package and I was granted the Visa very quickly.
