Maria Eugenia Garcia

Maria is an employment attorney and managing partner of MGQ Law, LLC.

Drawing from over a decade of relevant experience, Maria represents individuals and employers in all aspects of employment litigation, negotiations, and business advice.

Her practice focuses on advancing the rights of individuals who have been wronged in the workplace through retaliation, harassment, discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, disability, sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected classes in violation of federal and state laws.

She takes great pride in the work she does and the people she represents.

Prior to founding MGQ Law, Maria practiced labor and employment at Mitchell & Sheahan, P.C., a boutique labor and employment law firm with offices in Fairfield County. She handled complex employment litigation matters on behalf of individual, private business, and municipal clients throughout the state. She also worked with Attorney Lewis Chimes aggressively litigating discrimination, retaliation, and civil rights cases on behalf of individuals.

Maria began her career representing diverse corporate clients in high stakes commercial and civil litigation cases at Pullman & Comley, P.C., a large Connecticut based firm.

She had the honor of clerking for the Honorable Holly B. Fitzsimmons of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, where she gained invaluable insight into federal practice and procedure.

Maria has been recognized as a Labor & Employment Super Lawyer (2018) and a Connecticut Rising Star (2017 & 2016) by Super Lawyers.

Maria is a member of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association, following her tenure as the organization’s president in 2012. She serves as the Treasurer of the Connecticut Employment Lawyer’s Association and Secretary of the Raymond E. Baldwin Inn of Court. She is also a member of the CBA's Labor and Employment Section and the National Employment Lawyer’s Association.
