Dori-Ellen S. Feltman

I could not recommend Dori Ellen more highly. She is the unicorn of lawyers. First, she's an extremely smart lawyer and gets results while also having the integrity that many divorce lawyers lack. She is brave and unflappable in complex, challenging situations, and won't let her clients become their ...own worst enemies, as many people do during divorce. She is firm and direct when she has to be. She doesn't varnish the truth or make false promises just to get more money out of you. As a fellow parent, she gets it. She has the boundaries to deal with the drama that tends to swirl around custody issues. She pays attention when you share things, and remembers them. She is responsive and actually prepares, which are two qualities lacking in most lawyers from the feedback many of my friends have given on their lawyers over the years. She's caring and kind, but also gives you feedback on ugly truths when you're making mistakes (we all need that even if we don't want it). She gets along with all the professionals in my case, and also follows through to ensure things don't fall through the cracks. She's been a hero for my kids and me through difficult times. She does all of the above because she really cares that you succeed. You can feel it and see it. I wish more lawyers had all these qualities, but like I said, she's a unicorn. There's a reason for all these positive reviews. I actually like her as a person, too. And I have referred her to multiple friends and that's really probably the best stamp of approval I could give to anyone. I'm grateful I found her when I did.

When I first met Attorney Feltman in her office, I was in the unfortunate position of simultaneously fighting for child custody/divorce and false felony charges related to my divorce. As you might expect, I was not exactly Mr. Congeniality after what had transpired in my case. I vividly recall suffering through one hearing for half an hour listening to opposing counsel try to convince a judge that I was the Zodiak Killer, and afterwards Dori-Ellen smiled and told me "Blake, you're going to get sole custody by the time this case is over". My first thought was "wow, attorney mental health is a real issue". However time is the ultimate arbiter of truth, and ultimately she proved to be correct. Not only do I enjoy sole custody, all of the criminal charges were dropped. I have no idea how many goats she sacrificed to pull off that witchcraft, however I am sure it is a line item on my retainer somewhere. Dori-Ellen Feltman is the best therapist licensed to practice law in the state of Connecticut, and I can think of no other attorney I would want by my side if I had to trek to the ends of the earth and back again.
