So far, I'm $10,000 into the firm and have yet to see any results or even any advocation on my behalf. It typically takes 3-5 emails to get an answer to a simple question, and they have no problem billing you to read and respond each time, though you don't get an answer. Basic discovery has taken mon...ths, and had to be driven by me. 99% of my case has been through email with a paralegal, and if you actually question how your case is going, they threaten to drop you as a client while sending emails filled with personal insults. Then you find that the promised made during the consultation may not be achievable. If you hire this firm, be prepared to be frustrated, be prepared to proactively drive your case, and be prepared to pay and pay and pay. With any lawyer, get a second and third opinion. I trusted Bill Burns and he has failed to earn that trust.

Bill Burns is a lawyer that is on your side. Several years ago I was involved in a child custody issue that was mentally and financially draining. Lawyers that had looked at my case prior left me with too many questions that were unanswered. Bill Burns was certainly a refreshing lawyer to come upo...n after a friend referred me to him. He was efficient, kept me informed about the progress of my case, and most importantly did not leave me with outstanding lawyer fees. Thanks to Bill I now get to live happily ever after with all my children under the same roof. I am grateful for everything he has done, he certainly is a lawyer that will go above and beyond his duties.

I have never done this before (rate services/people) but I have to do this for this guy to maybe help somebody from falling into the same hell i fell in...here is what happened to me...this guy filed my case...Told me to keep paying my wife’s bills (who did nothing but got herself fired from her job)... and then basically forgot about the case until i asked him 6 months later. This was a simple case of a 6 year marriage with no kids and no assets involved. So upon my inquiry, he draws up a draft agreement which basically was asking me to pay half of my salary to my wife for 2 years who has more education then i have without even looking at her discovery and with no conditions which would encourage her to standup on her own feet. In fact, the alimony amount was so ridiculous, that she would be earning more than I would have left between my alimony payments and her unemployment… I had to tell him about several syntax mistakes in his draft which was simply a joke and favored so my wife so heavily that everybody I spoke with said, he is working with her lawyer and I should switch…When i complained and said i was going to switch lawyers he said he wanted to fix it and “make me happy” so I gave him another chance and then he proceeded to royally screw me. He finally gives me my wife’s discovery which was filled with stuff which either I was paying or she had in there to try and get everything out of me or was simple lies. When I said, she needed to get it fixed; he told me that he was going to send them a letter to get it fixed before drawing up any other draft. I asked him a week later and he told me he had changed “strategy” and had sent in a draft to her attorney WITHOUT BOTHERING TO TELL ME OR EVEN NOTIFYING ME about it...I still have not even seen the draft that he sent out!! And my wife and her attorney have!. i was stunned and then within half an hour of my response to him that this was insane that he was making moves without even telling me about it or even notifying me, I receive an e-mail from his secretary that I had an appointment in two days! When I complained again he decided to dump me…So right now I have an appointment in two days and I don’t have an attorney…I don’t even KNOW where this appointment is as his secretary just mentioned the time and date and I am left scrambling for a replacement lawyer and I have just one working day to do something before I have to go in to the unknown place for a “status conference”. Furthermore, to try and ensure that I am really screwed, he is telling me he is not going to give me a copy of my file until he sees a “rescheduled appearance” whatever that means….Please do not use him…this is already as stressful as it is and he has made sure he really makes it miserable for me…
