Ben is a life-long Nutmegger, having spent his childhood in East Haven. Ben graduated from Notre Dame HS in West Haven, and graduated from New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University) and New York Law School. Ben is admitted to the practice of law in Connecticut, New Hampshire and the District of Columbia, he was Counsel and Chief Counsel to the Connecticut House Republican caucus and served as a staff attorney with the CT Office of Consumer Counsel.

Ben has served as counsel for both national and local companies having obtained, among other things, approvals for the largest water front development in Stratford, CT as well as numerous approvals for Cumberland Farms, in various towns and cities across Connecticut.

Ben has advised business of all sizes throughout CT.

In May, 2015, Ben represented the Referendum Committee in which the rights of the people of Stratford to seek a referendum on actions taken by their town government was protected by judicial order.

Great result!

Mr. Proto was hired to represent my family regarding a real estate dispute. Mr. Proto did a wonderful job in preparing for this, took special care in his explanation as he unraveled the information making it easy to understand. He managed to resolve the issue with an unexpected settlement in our favor. He is knowledgeable and always very responsive to all of our questions. Tax Dispute

Mr. Proto was hired to represent my company in a tax dispute with a town regarding the Sewer Use Tax charged. Mr. Proto did a wonderful job in preparing for this as the information was not clear to the town or us. Mr. Proto took special care in his explanation as he unraveled the information making it easy to understand and therefore resolving the issue. I will use Mr. Proto again to represent the company should this comes up again.

An Excellent Choice

Ben Proto has worked as an attorney for me on several occassions over the past few years and I plan to use him again. He is an excellent general purpose attorney with a strong grasp of business and how to help close deals. Not feeling good above avvo

He appeared to be helpful at first but when i asked him to give me some advice on how to handle the situation and he gave his rates and he explained in an email his prices after he reviewed my info after I faxed the my info over that he requested he never responded
