Marc Paul Guertin

If someone had told him twenty years ago that he was going to be an attorney, Marc Guertin would have said you were out of your mind. At least that's the way he puts it. An artist at heart, Attorney Guertin spent many years crafting metals into functional pieces of art at a studio in Vermont before practicing law. 

Now, as a partner at Guertin and Guertin, LLC, Attorney Guertin draws on his creative abilities to help people plan for the future.  Working alongside his father, Attorney George P. Guertin, their practice is dedicated to estate planning, elder law and probate administration.  Through Marc's creative approach and disarming style he quickly becomes a valuable resource to his clients.

 Attorney Guertin’s passion for helping people and his creative abilities are evidenced by his work.  He co-wrote the book, Planning for the Future: A Practical Guide to Estate Planning and Avoiding Bad “Heir” Days, and currently authors a regular column on estate planning in the Totoket Times newspaper.   Marc also writes regularly about serious estate planning issues (blended with a healthy dose of humor) on his blog:  Death’s Little Instruction Book ().

Compassionate as well as creative, Attorney Guertin volunteers for the Northford/North Branford Food Bank and is a former Trustee for the Hamden Land Conservation Trust.  Marc also participates in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the United Way’s Day of Caring.

Attorney Guertin earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Keene State College, and his Juris Doctor cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law.  He is an avid Red Sox fan, music lover, poster collector, jeweler, metal smith and has also been known to make a really sweet tie dye t-shirt. 

Attorney Guertin also loves historic homes and spends much of his free time maintaining the 1773 antique Cape he shares with his wife, Sarah, their son Jeremy, a dog and a cat.  He resides in North Haven, Connecticut.
