also known as Rich Rochlin
Rich Rochlin’s path to becoming a trusted family law and divorce attorney was anything but traditional. He began his career in the corporate world, focused on complex business matters, until one moment in family court changed everything. Rich was asked to step in during a high conflict divorce involving complicated financial issues. When the original divorce attorney felt stuck, Rich used his business background to negotiate a fair agreement and helped settle the case in just two weeks.
That experience shifted something in him. The judge looked at Rich and said, “You love this and it shows… help this guy.” Those words stayed with him. Rich realized he felt most fulfilled when he was guiding real people through emotional, uncertain moments. That is when he knew family law was where he belonged.
Today, Rich brings empathy, patience, and a people first mindset to every case. He understands that divorce, custody issues, and family conflict take a toll on everyone involved. His goal is simple. Reduce your stress, protect what matters most, and help you move toward a healthier future. With a strong legal foundation and a practical, compassionate approach, Rich tailors his strategy to each client so they feel heard, supported, and fully represented.
Clients and colleagues often call him “I got a guy Rochlin” because he believes no one should face a family crisis alone. Whether you need a therapist, a forensic accountant, a financial planner, or even a plumber to get life back on track, Rich has a network that is ready to step in.
Before opening his own family law practice, Rich was a partner in Shipman & Goodwin’s Corporate Trust Practice Group and Commercial Finance Group. He also held key roles at Dechert LLP and Bingham McCutchen LLP, now Morgan Lewis. His background includes serving as local counsel to the NY Yankees in a complex matter involving the State of Connecticut, giving him a unique blend of high level legal experience and real world problem solving.
Rich remains active in the legal community. He has taught continuing legal education courses for the Connecticut Bar Association on the overlap between criminal and family law, lectured on custody and family dynamics at the Institute of Living, and served as a court appointed special master and panelist on the Middlesex Grievance panel.
Beyond his work as a Connecticut divorce and family law attorney, Rich hosts the podcast “I’ll Call My Guy,” where he shares stories, guidance, and expert insights from professionals across many fields. It is another way he helps people feel informed, empowered, and connected.
When he is not in the office, Rich enjoys photography and has contributed to Connecticut Food and Farm Magazine. He also loves working with his hands and is handy with electrical work and plumbing. Rich lives in Farmington with his wife and their three kids, who keep life grounded and joyful.

If you hire this individual to represent you, you will live to regret it. My experience with Rich started when he helped me with a home closing. That was actually ok. But A few years I hired him to represent me in a divorce. That was frankly one of my biggest mistakes. He is at times unorganized (nev...

I am forever thankful to have Rich on my side for my separation case. It is never easy with children involved, and there were so many hurt feelings it was hard for myself and the other parent to see eye to eye. Rich sat and listened to my story, and immediately gave me insight and direction. Thankful...

I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through my divorce without Rich by my side. I had an extremely difficult and complicated case in many ways and Rich handled it with such ease. He knew every area that we needed to cover and went above and beyond to guide me through each step. His thoughtf...
