Attorney Hajosy is an elder law, trusts and estate, probate and disability/special needs attorney with an office in West Hartford.
She graduated Cum Laude with Honors from Texas State University in 1994, with a B.A. in Psychology. In 1998, she earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of Law. She is admitted to practice in the States of Connecticut and Utah.
Her practice focuses on advising older clients and their families, and clients with special needs, regarding their estate planning options, including asset preservation and obtaining public benefits, when needed. Aging in place is a dominant choice of her older and special needs clients, so she works hard to make sure they have the resources available to make this choice. Helping the client maintain autonomy and dignity are the cornerstones of her estate and elder law practice.
She is an accredited Veteran Affairs Claims Attorney (VACA) and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and a past member of the Special Needs Alliance. Attorney Hajosy was the President Elect of the Connecticut chapter of NAELA (2017). She is on the Executive Committee of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, where she served on the Diversity and By-Law Committees. She is on the West Hartford Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities. Attorney Hajosy started and ran the University of Hartford and Greater Hartford Legal Aid Estate Document Clinic for Low Income Seniors that ended in 2019.
In addition to her work as an attorney, she is a longtime professor at the University of Hartford where she taught Probate Practice and Elder Law. Her joy of teaching means she is a frequent speaker offering seminars and courses on all topics within her practice areas.
In her free time, Rebecca likes to hike and camp with her two teenage kids. She is a Land Steward for the Connecticut Forest and Park Association and enjoys other land conservation volunteer opportunities. She is a third-generation bee keeper, enjoys playing guitar and has recently taken up pottery.
