James George Levins

When I spoke to James Levins during one of the lowest points in my life, I approached him with a case that would have been a risk to most attorneys. I know this because I had already spoken with several who did not feel completely confident that they could win the case. That was the deciding factor.... Whether or not the case could be won. For Jim, the deciding factor was the deeply troubling context of a case that had ramifications for all members of society. The high profile nature precludes me from discussing the details, as well as the confidentiality agreement that I entered into with the party that we had brought a civil action against. Despite the mucky waters, we won the case. My children and I received a settlement that would not have been satisfying had it not been for the personal sacrifice that James Levins and Pamela Gatos agreed to so that my children could have the amount of money that I had hoped they would receive. Throughout the entire 4-year ordeal, James, Pam, and the entire law firm at Tepper, Dardeck, and Levins were compassionate beyond expectations and showed an altruistic character that I would have never expected to witness in attorneys. James and Pam affected my life more than they will ever know. Because of their dedication and desire for social justice, I have decided to pursue the same calling in life. I have recently graduated from Castleton University as the top student in my major with a GPA of 3.8, Magna Cum Laude, and I have been accepted into Vt. Law School this year at 45 years old. I hope to bring the same kind of integrity, sacrifice, and discretion to my clients that each member of this firm had shown to me. I will never forget their service to my family. I sent Jim some pictures recently of my now grown son, who, without the support of Jim and the rest of the staff at Tepper, Dardeck, and Levins, (their firm name at the time) may not have grown into the man he is today. There is no better person I can think of who represents all that is good in humanity than James Levins. Thank you for everything.
