I retained Atty Blanchard after hearing a Radio Ad for the Russman Law Firm in Manchester NH. I presented the facts of my case which were scant few at the time.Basically I had been pulled over and given a field sobriety test which I had difficulty with due to recent major surgery which I explained t...o the arresting officer who offered the portable breathalyzer which I took. The portable registered .10 but the officer seemed unsatisfied and even said he wasn't sure about the reading so took me to the police station and asked me to take another which I declined thinking it was some sort of a set up since I had already taken one. So I was charged with refusing the test so I went to the Russman Law firm and retained the one Lawyer ( Atty Blanchard) he answered the door. He charged $5000 before doing any work . I paid the fee and waiting. Eventually he called and explained the police report stated that the officer was parked facing east and witnessed me taking a wide turn then crossing the cobblestone medium after which he claimed I crossed the center line. All of the "facts" in the report were disputable since I am/was a career tractor trailer driver and with no previous offenses or violations and as such am prone to wide turns especially in the area of Concord NH where I was stopped since that area had newly installed "bump outs" that require a wide turn , plus the area was under construction and the cobblestone medium that I allegedly crossed wasn't even installed yet ! The officer alleged that I crossed the painted line as he followed me which is difficult to dispute since it would be his word over mine but in light of the previous incorrect statements he had made on the report reasonable doubt clearly existed. Atty Blanchard failed to present a case using any of these facts and instead had me agree to plead guilty or receive an even longer loss of license that typically occurs . His claim was that it was a good deal but he seemed dead set against providing any kind of defense. Having this charge has severly impacted my ability to find employment after a 25 year accident free, violation free safe driving record. The Russman firm advertises an ability to defend even the most egregious of DWI cases which I found to be an inaccurate claim. An appointed attorney could have easily defended this case better thanthis FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR one . I m very disappointed with the representation I received and am sorry I didn't hire a more capable attorney. I would NOT recommend this firm or this atty to anyone hoping for representation on a DWI or OUI charge. Im sorry I ever did.
