James David Rosenberg

Attorney Rosenberg is an aggressive court room litigator, defending clients charged with criminal offenses in state courts throughout New Hampshire. He is a partner at the law firm of Shaheen & Gordon, a member of the Firm's Management Committee and the Chair of its Criminal Practice Group. Drawing on over 15 years of trial experience, Attorney Rosenberg regularly earns not guilty verdicts for clients after trial in matters large and small. He regularly defends clients from charges for DWI/DUI and impaired driving, homicide, drug possession and drug distribution, sexual assault, assault, theft, possession of pornography and a range of motor vehicle offenses. He has been recognized for his excellence in the area of criminal defense. In 2015, he was named to the Best Lawyers in America in the areas of DWI, Criminal Defense and White Collar Criminal Defense. He was also named to the Super Lawyers list in 2015 in the area of Criminal Defense. He had previously been named to the Super Lawyers Rising Star list from 2008-2014 and the Best Lawyers in America List in 2014. Governor Lynch appointed him to the Judicial Selection Commission in 2010 and Governor Hassan promoted him to serve as Co-Chair of the Commission in 2013, which is responsible for interviewing, investigating and recommending candidates to the Governor to fill state court judicial vacancies. Prior to joining the Firm, Jim served as Assistant Attorney General in the New Hampshire Department of Justice. He was assigned to the Homicide Unit where he successfully tried several high profile murder cases. At the Attorney General's Office, he was one of two prosecutors assigned to the Task Force responsible for the investigation and prosecution of the Diocese of Manchester for failing to protect children from sexually abusive clergy. The Union Leader, New Hampshire's only paper of state wide circulation, named Jim to its "40 Under 40" list in 2005, which is an annual collection of the State's "young leaders." Jim is active in the community in legal and civic matters. He is currently on the Board of the Concord, New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and is active in several youth sports organizations as a board member and a coach.
