Bad divorce lawyer seems like a decent criminal defense attorney. Charged me $5000 and that was only until I switched lawyers halfway through. My ex was able to lie under oath multiple times during the pretrial with no repercussions. My invoice was questionable ( stated calls were made and my cell ...phone bill didn’t have the same record ) and for the 6 months (during covid) very little work was done on my case to justify that amount . Charging $125 to scan in paperwork (isnt that was paralegals and secretaries do? )for a client on disability retirement who has to sell her house and give 1/2 her disability check to her ex is why layers have bad reputation- I felt like he was working for my ex and his lawyer and there was a boys club - there wasn’t going to be any kind of “win for me” I was told directly.

I have been a client of his for years and used him for both very serious criminal matters, and extremely delicate probate matters. He tells you exactly, how it is, doesn't sugar anything, and explains everything very well. He is always well prepared and gives 110%. He doesn't like to loose and is th...e type of guy who will loose sleep over your case. Not to mentuon he is vety well respected by judges and other attorneys. He got me a second chance when I didn't deserve one Overall he is a great stand up guy, excellent well practiced trial attorney, and expensive, but worth every penny he charges. Ask any attorney who practices in Bristol County, he will come highly recommend because, his experience is unfathomable.

Attorney Van Colen was very personable, respectful, knowledgeable and made me feel more at ease than when I walked in. He was direct and didn't sugar coat anything for me which proved he was honest and wanted me to be aware of all possible outcomes but that he would do his best to achieve the most ...favorable outcome for me, which he did do. If the need ever were to arise to need his services I would contact him without hesitation.

Ken was a very nice guy, and mostly got back to me when he could, but I wish I had done a little more research. Though he CAN practice family law, he mostly practices other law, and I don't feel like he handled my case that well and was just happy to get me through my divorce. I wouldn't recommend hi...m for Family Law.
