Experienced, effective divorce attorney

Hiring Mike Flores was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Mike is an empathetic and strategic divorce/family law attorney. You have access to key experts depending on your situation to ensure you receive the outcome you want and deserve. I was working with a non-family law lawyer be...fore Mike and let me tell you - it makes all the difference in the world. Mike and his team were proactive in putting together a plan the moment I hired his firm to serve on my behalf. If you are going through a divorce/custody/support situation, I can confidently say that hiring Mike Flores will put you in the best possible position to achieve your desired outcome.

Unprecedented focus and dedication

After completing the review process I outline below, I knew that Michael I. Flores was the attorney I needed to represent me in my 2012 divorce. When looking for an outstanding divorce attorney, one should look at three areas: (1) Knowledge of the divorce laws in your state, (2) Respect by peer atto...rneys, and (3) Respect of the Judges. Michael I. Flores was recommended to me by an attorney friend that practices in the estate part of the law business. However, prior to engaging Michael’s services I began with research on #1 above, his knowledge. Michael is a Fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Family Law Section, and a former president of the Barnstable County Bar. He not only thoroughly understands the divorce laws, he conducts training and teaching sessions on various facets of the law for other divorce attorneys throughout Massachusetts. For #2 above, I interviewed several (more than 4) divorce attorneys in my search for the best representative for me. I concluded each interview by asking the following question, “other than themselves who would they hire as a divorce attorney”? Michael’s name came up each and every time I questioned a peer. Finally, I was able to determine that Michael is respected by the judges where he must argue his cases. What are these areas important? The knowledge is obvious; however, what is less obvious is the respect of his peers. Because Michael has a reputation for being prepared, professional, level headed and a man of his word, his peers know that he will not play games. This saves time when negotiating on your behalf, reducing the back and forth exchange of paper that sometimes accompanies contentious cases. Michael is extremely comfortable appearing in front of a judge and has their respect. This is critical both in negotiated settlements and if you should go to trial. The judges know that if Michael is bringing an issue forward or is standing firm it is for good reason. Judges too quickly identify those attorney’s that play games or claim the sky is falling regardless of the issue. Michael is comfortable preparing for and going to trial, however, he is reasonable if a settlement is the best option. Michael will give you the straightforward facts, even if they are not what you want to hear. He will inform you if your expectations are unrealistic and advise you to reconsider. Finally, with unprecedented focus and dedication, Michael will provide you with a professional and sustained superior effort, going above and beyond what is expected.

Talented and exceptional family law attorney

Michael I. Flores represented me in 2013-2014 in a highly contentious and at times volatile divorce proceeding. Parental alienation, hidden assets, an opposing unscrupulous criminal defense attorney, multiple properties, substantial assets and income, as well as three beautiful children were involved... in our case. Upon review of his impressive credentials, I scheduled an interview and upon completion I knew I was in good hands. He is a man of his word and offers neither false promises nor pretense. With over twenty years of experience focused solely on family law, Michael is extremely comfortable appearing in front of a judge and for good reason. He has done so frequently on behalf of the best interests of his clients. He is quite comfortable preparing for and going to trial, unlike so many divorce attorneys. He advocates on behalf of his clients and will not negotiate with opposing counsel unless instructed to do so first. He will absolutely not work behind your back to try and move a case through. He is competent, always prepared, professional, passionate about the law and thorough. As a Fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Chair of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Family Law Section, and a former president of the Barnstable County Bar Association, Michael is an accomplished, unparalleled litigator. His deposition of the opposing party in my case included 26 pages of specific questions leading toward his defensible argument during our trial and one could easily see his authoritarian command of a courtroom based strictly on working knowledge of the law and facts garnered through his concise deposition. He advocates on behalf of clients in a constructive rather than destructive manner unlike the opposition in my particular trial. He is unwavering in his ethics, and moral virtue. He is empathetic, cost conservative and worth every dollar you invest in this life altering situation. Should you ask his staff, Sandy and Laurel how they came to work for Michael I. Flores, they will tell you, he represented them in their own divorces. What better testimonial to his attributes as a family law attorney.
