My Best Attorney in the Last 14 Years

Maureen was recommended to me following passage of the Alimony Reform Act of 2011 as my ex husband had sued to terminate my alimony based upon his interpretation of the new law. Maureen handled my case, which we lost due to my trial judge's personal interpretation of the new law. She then took on t...he the daunting task of my appeal, where we prevailed after the SJC had ruled on the seminal three cases of Chin, Rodman, and Doktor. Prior to retaining Maureen, beginning in 2003, I had worked with two other older, more experienced divorce lawyers to handle my original divorce, and a subsequent Modification, also initiated by my ex husband. Maureen has been the best by far! She is professional but friendly, easy to reach, responsive, and personally invested in the outcome of each case that she takes on. Maureen is well-liked and respected by her peers and no challenge is too great for her. She always made me feel as though we were working together on the same team. Divorce is sad and ugly Courts are overcrowded. The "system" is terribly imperfect. I don't recommend divorce to anyone, but if divorce is the only option, I heartily recommend hiring Maureen to handle the case. She is a strong advocate for her clients and never gives up. Maureen and I have remained in touch, we chat about a variety of current legal issues, and I'm very glad that I met her.

Smart, Reliable, Strategic, Responsive, Experienced Professional

Maureen is an outstanding attorney and made me feel at all times that she was truly invested in me, my children and my case. She is cool and calm under pressure, intuitive, strategic and provides excellent and quality service. Her years of experience helped her to recognize my husband‘s personality... issues (even before I did) and allowed us to proceed strategically. I found her to be responsive, always getting back to me quickly, and knowledgeable while handling my complex international divorce case. Most importantly she is a highly effective litigator who got me results that were better than expected. You won’t know how truly excellent she is until after the ink has dried on your settlement agreement. I recommend her highly and without reservation.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
