About me

The focus of my practice is to work closely with business owners and entrepreneurs on what for many is "The Most Important Transaction of Their Life."  My web site describes this focus in more detail:  I was inspired to practice law by our family lawyer who had a personal and business relationship with my family.  It was the relationship aspect that appealed to me.  When I started my practice  in 1986 in California, my focus was on mergers & acquisitions - mostly representing private companies that were acquired by public companies.  When I moved to the Boston area in 1994, I got involved with the whole start-up tech company scene, lots of business formation, venture capital financing and fast growing companies.  Since the bubble burst, I have re-oriented my practice closer to its origins - focusing on business purchase and sale, internal business succession to junior employees and internal succession among existing owners.
