Several years ago, I had a consultation with Chris Phelan regarding plans to divorce my husband. I was not prepared to initiate the process at that time and was seeking information to plan the most appropriate course of action. My former spouse was dangerous and I needed assistance surrounding this c...oncern. Chris came highly referred by a close friend and had an office near my home which prompted my consultation with him. He was supportive and agreed to represent me. I gave him a retainer of $1000.00. I had difficulty reaching Chris thereafter to update him on my progress moving forward toward divorce. One of our last conversations, he told me to call him when I was ready. I never did reach him or hear back from him. I consequently hired another attorney. Still to this day, I have been unable to reach him regarding reimbursement of my retainer despite several requests for this. I have called him and left messages with no response. He still has my $1,000.00.
