You can call me Lucky, you can call me a liar..but this is a true story..I Wasa heroin and cocaine addict who was arrested on dec 5 2011 for 4 armed bank robberies and 3hijacking/bomb threats..That day in somerville district court when I was being arraigned on the chargers , I was apponited cheryl mc...gillvary.Who do this day I can never thank her enough for the work and effor she put into my case...That day I was held on 20,000 cash bail.I WAS SENT to county jail , off to kick my heroin habit and do alot of thinking of how I need to change my life if I ever plan on getting out, becuase I was now looking at 10 to 15 years in prision..while I was sitting in county I knew I needed help and treatment which I knew I would never recieve in jail..But while I sat Ms Mcgilvarry was on the street building a defense for my case...But 20,000 was an extreamly lot of money for anyone to come up with..I was eventually indictied on a charges..I knew I was not ready quite yet to bail out to the street becuse of my mind state and addictive personality..Thats when Cheryl put my best well being and my only shot to recover as an addict before letting me bail out without any treatment..Cheryl brought this matter to the judges attention after 4 months of me sitting in county jail (at that point was the safest place for me)..She made it clear that the rest was up to me if rhe judge agreed to reduce my bail and stipulate me to a drug treatment program...With lots of prayers and alot of hard workfrom Cherly calling programs for me and building my defense all at the same time of checking up on my during lawyer visits it was time to bring it to the judge in superior court. That day in march of 2012 The judge lowered my bail to 500 dollars..10 PERCENT OF 5,000 AND GRANTED ME MY freedom to wheich I was stipulated to a drug treatment program, and the rest was up to me..On this day I knew this was hard work from everyone but I knew it was up to me now. .I was able to stay sober all the way up to trial on april 2013 and I was blessed with a 3 year open probation sentence also w 2 1/2 years suspended on top of all of this..It is june 2014 and yes I have had 1 slip in recovery but with my network of friends that I met while I was clean n sober I was able to pick up rught where I left off..I could never thank this firm and most of all Cheryl Mcgilvarry..My name is Danny Merril and I forever owe ms mcgilvarry for what she did for me..yes its a job but she eats sleeps and livea for her clients , and if I ever have trouble again you know who I am calling..Thank yo Cherly for the beautiful life I have today.
