Attorney Sabrina Bonanno practices in courts across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Her practice includes criminal defense, hearings before the Sex Offender Registry Board, and on appeal in G.L. c. 30A actions in Superior Court. She has represented clients in a range of criminal cases including first-degree murder, embezzlement, bank robbery, sex trafficking, drug trafficking, drug possession, sexual assault, computer crimes such as possession, dissemination, and production of child pornography, assault and battery, criminal harassment, domestic violence, Harassment Prevention Orders, Restraining Orders, Petitions to Seal a Record, Abuse Prevention Orders and 209A Violations. She also represents clients before the Sex Offender Registry Board for initial classification hearings, reclassification hearings, and termination hearings. When applicable, she also handles the appeal from an adverse decision by SORB in Superior Court. There are many cases where she has represented a client during their criminal case and also at their initial classification hearing or reclassification hearing if they have been accused/convicted of a new offense.
Attorney Bonanno provides intelligent, experienced, and zealous representation in court and before SORB. She understands the impact of being charged with a crime and/or being required to register as a sex offender has on a person’s personal and professional life. She strives to ensure her clients understand the process and helps them navigate through a system that often seems unfair and stacked against them. Her commitment, perseverance, and unwavering advocacy on behalf of her clients has ensured her clients receive the best possible outcome.
Attorney Bonanno attended Dennis-Yarmouth High School on Cape Cod and later attended Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Sabrina went on to graduate from New England Law Boston Magna Cum Laude. She was a member of the New England Law Review and is a Published Author.
Attorney Bonanno began working at Sweeney & Associates, LLC (formerly Sullivan & Sweeney) as a law clerk in 2009. Her whole career has been spent on high-level criminal matters working side by side with experienced and well-respected attorneys. She has been co-counsel on four First Degree Murder cases and has been co-counsel on countless other serious felony cases. More importantly, Sabrina has successfully tried many of her own cases. She is well-versed in criminal law and hearings before SORB.
She is the current President of the Bar Association of Norfolk County, Vice Chair of the Criminal Justice Section Council of the MBA, and on the Board of Directors of the Plymouth District Bar Association. Sabrina also co-chaired the Clemency Task Force as part of her work on the Criminal Justice Section Council. The resolutions drafted by the Clemency Task Force were passed by the MBA’s House of Delegates and were in large part incorporated into Governor Healy’s Executive Clemency Guidelines.

Highly Recommend
Atty. Bonanno was hired to represent my son in a case involving SORB. Entanglement in the legal system is frightening and the stakes extremely high. A Trusted Partner
I was referred to Sabrina via another attorney. On very short notice, she met me on a Monday morning at court, listened to my side and walked me thru the process. We met again in her office to discuss my case. She explained all of my options and was with me every step of the way. Sabrina is a straigh...
"I had the good fortune of collaborating with Sabrina on a case recently and could not have been more impressed with her knowledge, skill and passion for the work that she does. In our field some attorneys are zealous advocates in the courtroom, while others work better behind the scenes with research and writing. Sabrina is a skilled litigator who excels equally at both, and she has become one of my go-to colleagues when I am looking for advice or ideas about some of my own cases."
"Attorney Bonanno is a well respected lawyer in the community. Her ability, dedication and loyalty to her clients is un-matched. I endorse this lawyer."

I worked as a PCA. She had me hand write a letter saying I'd give her a month's notice before I quit but I quit without notice.
