Neil Berman graduated from U. Mass-Amherst in 1977. Neil ran a used bookstore in Wellesley and Newton with his father, often bartending in the evenings to supplement his income. Neil went to Western New England Law School in 1991, and graduated in 1994. He then opened Common Sense Legal Counseling in Somerville with the goal of providing the personal service of a small town law office. Neil has been involved with various professional organizations, and was on the Board of Directors of the National Lawyers Guild – Massachusetts chapter from 2001 to 2014, and was the Chair of the Board from 2008 – 2014.
Neil is an avid skier, and spent 5 winters in the 1980’s skiing and bartending at various ski towns in the western United States. He also enjoys reading, watching movies, hiking and camping.
