Ku Yoo

 I enjoy helping business people do business; beginning with business formation and incorporation, working through the growth of the business, dealing with acquisitions and sales, and finally helping with its exit strategies.

I represent clients who are closely held and family businesses, investors, and high net-worth individuals in areas including manufacturing and supply, real estate, investment vehicles and funds, and hospitality industry.

I advise clients with the internal corporate or partnership and LLC (limited liability company) matters. I advise clients with issues arising from day-to-day operations of the business to major transactions including sale, acquisition, or other changes and restructures. I also advise foreign companies doing business in the United States of America. I counsel my clients in corporate, business, real estate, and tax law.

As a partner in a small firm, I able to give clients individualized personal attention. We work with our clients on specific issues with a global understanding of the specific client's total situation so that we can fashion the most effective and appropriate solution to the business challenges. Further, being a firm, we are able to counsel clients in other vital business matters such as commercial transactions, secured transactions, uniform commercial code, collections, and other litigation issues.

I was born in Seoul, Korea. Prior to attending law school, I was a teacher and a fundraiser. As a law student, I clerked for the City of Cleveland Law Department - Labor Law Division. I also worked for a law firm focusing on employment and tort law, including products liability.

Prior to partnering with Jeff, I was a sole practitioner working with partnerships, privately held businesses, and focusing on civil litigation and collections.

Aside from English, I am fluent in Korean and conversational in Spanish. On my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, hosting dinner parties, doodling on my guitar, and learning about wine. I live with my wife and a dog just outside of Boston, Massachusetts by the ocean.
