Walter A. Galas Jr.

I have been an attorney since 1994, practicing in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I've recently rejoined Stevenson & Lynch, P.C. after spending the eight years working for insurance companies and their insureds in civil litigation defense. My varied legal experience as well as my background in litigation is valuable to the Clients of Stevenson & Lynch, P.C.

I initially worked at Stevenson & Lynch, P.C. from 1995 through 2001. At that time, I concentrated my practice in a wide variety of legal areas including domestic relations, probate, contracts, collection, real estate and bankruptcy.

From 2001 to 2009, I worked as a Trial Counsel for insurance defense firms, as both in-house and outside counsel. In this capacity, I defended individuals and companies in personal injury cases in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The cases included both automobile accident cases and premises liability claims. I was lead counsel on dozens of cases tried before judges or juries. I also frequently handled cases resolved through arbitration. My practice also included the defense of insurance companies in M.G.L. c. 93A/176D bad faith claims.

Because I spent many years defending claims and working closely with insurance companies, I know how they view and handle claims. I use this knowledge to help my current personal injury clients get fully reimbursed for the injuries and damages they have suffered from the negligence of another.

In 2009, I was elected to a three-year term as the Town Moderator in the Town of Easton.

I now concentrate my practice in the areas of domestic relations, personal injury, real estate, probate, contracts, and general litigation
